It is 16th versus 17th at Goodison Park on Saturday yet strugglers Everton and Leicester actually go into this relegation scrap feeling bullish.

The Toffees have won two in a row under David Moyes to put daylight between themselves and the bottom three, while Leicester's 2-1 win at Tottenham last Sunday ended a seven-game Premier League losing streak.

Team news

Everton are without Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who tweaked a hamstring in Saturday's 1-0 win at Brighton, and with fellow forward Armando Broja also injured, Beto is likely to lead the line.

In midfield Orel Mangala is out for the season so Abdoulaye Doucoure may have to drop back alongside Idrissa Gueye.

Leicester are ploughing on with pretty much the same group, with Wilfred Ndidi, Ricardo Pereira and Abdul Fatawau still out.

The stats

Everton are looking to win three in a row for the first time since April.

The Toffees have failed to score in more games (12) than any other Premier League side. However, only Liverpool and Forest have kept more clean sheets than Everton’s total of eight.

Leicester have not kept a clean sheet in any of their last 18 games in all competitions and they have conceded in all 11 league away matches — letting in two or more in nine of those.

Of the 35 Premier League meetings between these two clubs, 17 have ended in draws.

Prediction

Everton versus Leicester represents a huge game at the bottom of the Premier League and a couple of serious injury blows will have dampened the Toffees' enthusiasm.

The loss of Orel Mangala and Dominic Calvert-Lewin to injury represents a couple of serious blows, though it is one that they can overcome.

Under David Moyes there appears to be an organisation to Everton that may not have been there before and they can keep out a Leicester side who simply cannot stop conceding goals.

Last week — and it is a testament to the spirit Ruud van Nistelrooy has instilled in the King Power dressing room — they conceded first at Tottenham.

Normally that would have been the cue for a defeat, what was looking like an eighth in a row in the league.

Instead, they knuckled down and fought back against a shattered Spurs to win 2-1, though it is worth noting that this Tottenham team are on their knees.

Everton will not be anywhere near as fragile as Ange Postecoglou's men and can land the odds, though they look short enough.

Have a look instead at LiveScore Bet's Goalscorer market and have a think about Iliman Ndiaye. The Senegal ace has scored seven goals this season, five in the league, looks highly confident and will be on penalties with Calvert-Lewin out.
