Michail Antonio has signed a contract extension with West Ham until 2024

Michail Antonio has extended his West Ham deal until 2024, with the option of a further year.

Having seen him net nine goals in all competitions so far this season, the Hammers were keen to tie down the 31-year-old striker.

A statement on the club’s official website said: "Antonio has agreed to extend his contract until the summer of 2024, with the option of a further year.

"The extension is recognition of his contribution to the club’s success over the past two years — and for his hard work and commitment since moving to East London in 2015.

"Everyone is pleased he has agreed to extend his stay and looks forward to many more goals, assists and celebrations in the future."

Antonio has thrived since being deployed as a No9 by David Moyes.

He overtook Paolo Di Canio to become the East London outfit’s highest Premier League scorer following a double against Leicester last August and now has 54 top-flight strikes to his name.

The Wandsworth-born marksman has become a fan favourite at the London Stadium with his dominant displays and notable goal celebrations.

His eight goals after Project Restart helped the Hammers avoid relegation in the 2019-20 campaign and he netted 10 times last season to help secure a Europa League berth.

He has been equally pivotal this season with Moyes’ men fifth in the Premier League and through to the knockout phase in Europe.

After a blip in form during November and December, Antonio has netted two goals and made one assist in West Ham’s last three games.
