Chelsea will turn to Bayern Munich marksman Robert Lewandowski if they fail to land top target Erling Haaland.

According to sources in Germany, a conversation has already taken place between the Blues and Lewandowski’s agent Pini Zahavi regarding the Pole’s future in Bavaria.

It is thought the European champions could test the water with a £50million bid for the 32-year-old, who continues to smash goalscoring records despite his advancing years.

Having racked up a remarkable 397 goals in 518 games across spells with both Bayern and Borussia Dortmund, Lewandowski has established himself as the Bundesliga’s most prized asset.

Bayern are extremely reluctant to let him go and the German champions are likely to ramp up their efforts to persuade their talisman to sign a contract extension.

That could see Chelsea redouble their efforts to capture Haaland, though a deal is proving difficult to strike.

Having already lost Jadon Sancho to Manchester United, BVB want to retain their prolific 21-year-old for at least one more season.

Previous reports have suggested the Blues are preparing a monster £135m bid for the Norwegian.

Gunners still plotting Ram raid

Arsenal are preparing to submit a third bid for Sheffield United keeper Aaron Ramsdale, according to talkSPORT

The Gunners have already had two approaches rebuffed but Mikel Arteta is a big fan of the 23-year-old and views him as a stronger option than Bernd Leno for the No1 jersey.

The latest approach is thought to be a £30m bid, though The Times say the South Yorkshire club are holding out for £32m.

It would mark a swift return to the Premier League for Ramsdale, who was relegated with the Blades in 2020-21 after only returning to his boyhood club from Bournemouth at the start of the campaign.

Despite having also been relegated with the Cherries the season before, the highly-rated keeper has already made 75 top-flight appearances.

Ramsdale was drafted into England’s European Championship squad as back-up this summer following an injury to Dean Henderson and is thought to be keen on a switch to the Emirates.

Liverpool have identified West Ham forward Jarrod Bowen as a potential target, according to The Athletic.

It is thought the Reds view Bowen, 24, as a player with high potential who would initially offer competitive back-up to their attacking ranks.

Manchester United want to sign Leon Goretzka when his Bayern Munich contract expires at the end of the season.

The Daily Mail say the Red Devils will offer Germany international Goretzka, 26, a £200k-per-week deal in an attempt to take advantage of stalling contract talks with Bayern.

Newcastle will have to stump up £13m if they are to land Jens Cajuste from FC Midtjylland, say The Chronicle.

The 21-year-old Swedish midfielder is a top target for the Magpies after Steve Bruce admitted he is in dire need of reinforcements in the centre of the park.
