Draw

Nottingham Forest's bubble burst in emphatic fashion last Saturday as their nine-game winning streak came to an end with a heavy 5-0 defeat away to Bournemouth.

It was a stunning result for the Cherries and one which will have given Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo food for thought, but his side are still very much in contention for a top-four Premier League finish.

Next up is a home clash against Brighton, who also head into this game off the back of defeat, having lost 1-0 to Everton last weekend.

The Seagulls have had their fair share of injuries lately, but you would not believe it based on results before the reverse to the Toffees.

Their first three Premier League games of 2025 yielded seven points, with wins over Ipswich Town and Manchester United following a disciplined 1-1 draw with Arsenal.

Team news

Ibrahim Sangare and Danilo are back in contention for the home side, but winger Callum Hudson-Odoi has been ruled out for this weekend.

Brighton are dealing with a handful of injuries, with Ferdi Kadioglu, Igor, James Milner, Mats Wieffer, Evan Ferguson, Pervis Estupinan and Solly March all unavailable.

Fabian Hurzeler will want to see Brighton respond to a 1-0 defeat at Everton last time out.

The stats

Brighton have lost just one of their last eight games in all competitions, with four of those matches finishing as draws against West Ham, Brentford, Aston Villa and Arsenal.

Forest are winless in their last three Premier League meetings with the Seagulls, but the Tricky Trees have also lost just one of their last 10 fixtures in all competitions.

Both teams have scored in 17 of Brighton's 23 top-flight games this campaign, while the meeting of these two sides on the south coast earlier this season ended in a 2-2 draw.

Prediction

Nottingham Forest have been overachievers in this season's Premier League, but Brighton are also going well and this could be a tight contest on the banks of the Trent.

Both of these sides are well-drilled and well-organised and they have only lost 10 league fixtures between them so far this season.

Indeed, Albion make themselves tough to beat and that has result in a league-high 10 draws this campaign, including four in their last seven top-flight matches.

Forest would have been fancied to win this game a couple of weeks ago, but the 5-0 loss to Bournemouth may have tempered expectations slightly.

In response to that mauling, Nuno will want the Tricky Trees to tighten up at the back and they may adopt a more cautious approach to this fixture, enhancing the appeal of backing the draw.
