- Derby have won on each of their last three visits to Carrow Road
- Norwich have not kept a clean sheet in their last 10 home matches
- Recommended bet:
Derby or draw double chance

Norwich have won their last two fixtures and take on Derby on Saturday knowing that maximum points would take them into the Championship play-off places.

Several second-tier clubs are involved in FA Cup fourth-round weekend and the reduced schedule affords Norwich a great opportunity to gain ground on some of the teams above them.

The Canaries were 1-0 winners at Watford last Saturday and are approaching the weekend just two points outside of the top six.

Meanwhile, third-bottom Derby are in the thick of the relegation battle having lost each of their last seven league fixtures.

Paul Warne’s side remained two points adrift of safety after last Saturday’s 1-0 reverse at home to high-flying Sheffield United.

Norwich must decide whether to involve Manchester City loan signing Jacob Wright or Czech striker Matej Jurasek, who has been snapped up on a permanent deal from Slavia Prague.

Ken Aboh has been loaned out to Colchester and Forson Amankwah, Anis Ben Slimane (both leg) and Marcelino Nunez (hamstring) are injury concerns.

Derby could hand debuts to Everton loanee midfielder Harrison Armstrong and defender Sondre Langas, who has arrived from Norwegian top flight side Viking.

The Rams may be without Dajaune Brown, Corey Blackett-Taylor and Kane Wilson (all hamstring), who were absent for last Saturday's loss at home to Sheffield United.

The stats

Norwich have kept just one clean sheet in 16 home matches this season.

Both teams have scored in each of Norwich’s last seven home league fixtures.

Four of Norwich’s last seven league defeats have been by a 2-0 scoreline.

Derby have lost their last seven Championship matches.

Five of Derby’s last six games have featured less than three goals.

Prediction

Championship strugglers Derby have slipped from 14th to 22nd after seven consecutive league defeats but they can spring a surprise by avoiding defeat at play-off chasing Norwich.

The Rams have fallen on the wrong side of some tight margins in recent weeks. Each of their last three defeats has been by a single goal, including Saturday’s 1-0 loss to Sheffield United which occurred despite them winning the shot count 10 to six.

While Derby were out of luck last weekend, Norwich had some good fortune as they scraped a 1-0 win away to a Watford side reduced to 10 men by Vakoun Bayo’s first half red card.

The Canaries finished the match hanging on against an outnumbered and out-of-form Watford side.

Norwich have not won three successive games at any stage this season and could be denied the feat by a Derby side desperate to enhance their survival hopes.
