Rob Edwards and Luton Town have faced problems dropping back down into the Championship.

- Luton have won successive home games 1-0
- Swansea have conceded eight goals in nine away league games
- Recommended bet: Under 1.5 goals

Luton were amongst the most entertaining teams to watch last season in the Premier League, but ultimately they could not avoid their stay in the top-flight being a fleeting one.

Rob Edwards remained in the hotseat for this season, seeking to steady the ship back in the second tier but, with just five wins in 18 games, they are in real peril again.

Swansea have only managed one more win with six, but they are better at avoiding defeat and so head for Kenilworth Road five points clear of their hosts.

Team news

Edwards made four changes for the 4-2 defeat away at Norwich last weekend. Japan international Daiki Hashioka came into defence, while Tahith Chong and Shandon Baptiste also got the nod and Elijah Adebayo came into the attack.

Reece Burke missed out against the Canaries with an injury and remains a doubt while Marvelous Nakamba, Tom Krauß and Victor Moses were dropped to the bench in East Anglia.

Alfie Doughty has missed four games with injury and is a key loss, while Reuell Walters is also out for the Hatters.

Swansea boss Luke Williams welcomed back South Korea international Jisung Eom during the 2-2 draw at home to Portsmouth, his first outing since early October and the talented midfielder may be pushing for a start now.

Josh Ginnelly, Oliver Cooper and Sam Parker are likely to remain absent.

The stats

Only Plymouth (38) have conceded more Championship goals than Luton (33).

Swansea's six away goals is the third lowest in the division.

The Swans have won three of their last six league games.

Luton have only lost one of their last seven home league games.

Swansea have won two of their last three on the road.

The visitors have lost just one of the last four Kenilworth Road meetings.

Prediction

Luton have managed successive home league wins over Cardiff and Hull, both coming via single goals, but overall they are struggling to readapt to life in the Championship.

Edwards' side go into the weekend in 19th place after back-to-back defeats against Leeds and Norwich.

Swansea's form has picked up with three wins in their last six and their only defeats in that run were at the hands of Burnley and Leeds, two of the top three going into this round of games.

The 1-0 defeat at Turf Moor is their only loss in four on their travels. There have only been 14 goals scored in Swansea's nine away games.

That stat, coupled to Luton battling their way to a pair of 1-0 home wins recently helps push the notion this could be a low-scoring and attritional battle.
