- Liverpool beat Lille 2-1 on Tuesday in the Champions League
- Ipswich were crushed 6-0 at home by Manchester City last Sunday

- Recommended bet: Ipswich Town 0-3 - 3-Way Handicap

Arne Slot's quadruple-chasing Liverpool continue to set the pace at the top of both the Premier League and Champions League which ought to make Ipswich Town fans feel slightly queasy ahead of their visit to Anfield.

The Reds look a class apart from most sides and should fancy their chances against a Town team who were hit for six by Manchester City a week ago.

Team news

Slot made a few changes against Lille on Tuesday and is set to bring back Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ibrahima Konate into his defence and Cody Gakpo on the left flank.

The Dutchman must decide between Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez in attack, with Diogo Jota definitely ruled out.

Tractor Boys boss Kieran McKenna has decisions to make in several areas but has to make do without both Sammie Szmodics and Chiedozie Ogbene.

Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna will want to see a big reaction to a 6-0 home thrashing by Manchester City.

The stats

Liverpool are unbeaten in their last 14 home games in all competitions, winning 12. They have scored at least two goals in all of them.

The Reds have scored in all but one of their last 25 Premier League matches, dating back to April. They have scored two or more in 22 of those 25.

Ipswich have picked up more points away (9) than at Portman Road (7).

The Tractor Boys have thrown away 17 points from winning positions this season.

Prediction

Ipswich have had a week to get over the agony of Sunday's brutal 6-0 dismantling by Man City and there will be many observers who feel a similar outcome is on the cards at Anfield.

They may be right, though the value might be to think the other way.

Ipswich were terrible against City, like rabbits in headlights and it beggars belief that Kieran McKenna will allow that to happen again on Merseyside.

Town's away form is marginally better than in Suffolk as well, and of course it has been another tiring week for Liverpool as they continue to juggle league and midweek commitments.

They return to Anfield after a 2-1 win at home to Lille in the Champions League on Tuesday, another physical battle against a team who worked Slot's men hard.

The Premier League leaders will, of course, be hugely confident on the back of a 14-match unbeaten home run.

However, it is worth noting that of those 14 matches, only four have been won by more than two-goal margins and one of those was the 4-0 drubbing of League Two strugglers Accrington Stanley in the FA Cup.

Town's battering by the Citizens was a rare no-show in a season where they have competed well.

If they can compete well again this Saturday then have a look at LiveScore Bet's 3-Way Handicap market where Ipswich with a 3-0 start look appealing.
