Five straight league defeats have seen Leicester plunge to 19th in the Premier League and they will be looking to stop the bleeding at home to Crystal Palace on Wednesday.

The Eagles, who had themselves been in bags of trouble after a slow start to term, are on a solid run of form as they ease towards mid-table.

Foxes' centre-back Jannik Vestergaard, injured in the 2-1 loss at Aston Villa 10 days ago, should be available to return at the back in Ruud van Nistelrooy's 4-2-3-1 set-up.

Odsonne Edouard, on loan from Palace, is ineligible, while Wilfred Ndidi and Abdul Fatawu are out.

Keeper Dean Henderson, one of several Palace players struck down by a bug last week, should return in goal.

Midfielder Adam Wharton is still out and Will Hughes remains a doubt.

The stats

Leicester have lost their last five Premier League matches.

Palace have lost just one of their last nine games and are unbeaten in their last five away league games.

Fifteen of Leicester's 20 league matches have produced three goals or more with both teams scoring in 16 of 24 in all competitions.

In the league, the Foxes have mustered a divisional-low one clean sheet.

The sides drew 2-2 at Selhurst Park in September, Palace coming from two down to claim the point.

Prediction

Leicester enjoyed a welcome win on Saturday and will be looking to use that 6-2 FA Cup demolition of QPR as a springboard in the Premier League.

Five straight losses have seen them drop to 19th in the table, but only potentially a win away from safety and just seven points behind Palace.

And while the Eagles — 1-0 winners over Stockport in the FA Cup — are big improvers in the league, they are also struggling to win games.

Indeed, Palace’s four wins is only one more than Leicester, and the Foxes' recent losing streak has featured fixtures against such big-hitters as Newcastle, Liverpool, Manchester City and Aston Villa.

Leicester are having no great difficulty finding the net, as they have bagged 23 goals which is two more than Palace, who have been wasteful in front of goal.

Palace's only loss in seven on their travels was lucklessly, 3-2, at Arsenal in the Carabao Cup, but the fact remains that despite being hard to beat they are also finding wins hard to come by with six draws in their last 11 in the league.

The first meeting between these two ended 2-2 and Leicester have to be confident they can at the very least avoid defeat in what looks like a close call.
