Deadline day has now passed but there are still a number of high-profile players available for clubs to sign.
We have created a full XI featuring the best free agents on the market.
Goalkeeper: David de Gea
David de Gea left Manchester United at the end of his contract after 12 years at the club — and it feels only a matter of time until he finds a new home.
The 32-year-old played 545 games for the Red Devils in all competitions, keeping 190 clean sheets.
Right-back: Reggie Cannon
After three years with Portuguese side Boavista, 25-year-old right-back Reggie Cannon is now a free agent.
The 28-cap United States international previously played for Major League Soccer outfit FC Dallas.

Centre-back: Axel Tuanzebe
Like De Gea, Axel Tuanzebe departed United at the end of his contract having made just 37 first-team appearances.
The 25-year-old central defender spent the second half of last season on loan at Stoke but saw his game time restricted by injury.
Centre-back: Phil Jones
Another out the Red Devils' exit door, Phil Jones' 12-year stay at Old Trafford finally came to an end this summer.
Still just 31, he made 229 appearances for United in all competitions and boasts 27 England caps.

Left-back: Ryan Bertrand
Ryan Bertrand departed Leicester after two years at the King Power Stadium, where he played only 11 matches due to injury.
The 34-year-old previously shone at Southampton and famously started in Chelsea's victory over Bayern Munich in the 2012 Champions League final.
Right wing: Anwar El Ghazi
Anwar El Ghazi terminated his contract at PSV Eindhoven after just one season, despite scoring an impressive nine goals in 33 appearances.
The Dutch winger, 28, has also been on the books at Ajax, Lille, Aston Villa and Everton during his career.

Centre midfield: Roberto Pereyra
Former Juventus and Watford midfielder Roberto Pereyra is a free agent after spending the last three years at Udinese.
The versatile 32-year-old has been capped 19 times by Argentina and was part of Lionel Scaloni's squad for the 2019 Copa America.
Centre midfield: Jean-Philippe Gbamin
Jean-Philippe Gbamin's Everton nightmare is over after the termination of his contract last Saturday.
The 16-cap Ivory Coast international joined the Toffees from Mainz in August 2019 but made just eight senior appearances due to injuries, spending last season on loan at Turkish side Trabzonspor.

Left wing: Eden Hazard
Eden Hazard is still a free agent after mutually agreeing to terminate his Real Madrid contract a year early, with that decision made way back at the start of June.
The Belgian was restricted to just 76 appearances in all competitions for Los Blancos due to persistent injuries and could be set to announce his retirement at the age of 32, despite reportedly receiving numerous offers this summer.
Attacking midfielder: Jesse Lingard
Nottingham Forest chose not to extend Jesse Lingard's one-year deal after his unsuccessful 2022-23 campaign, where he failed to score or assist a goal in the Premier League.
The former Manchester United playmaker is currently training with West Ham — where he previously thrived on loan — and could be offered a short-term deal by the East Londoners.

Striker: Moussa Marega
Last month, ex-Porto striker Moussa Marega had his contract at Al-Hilal terminated a year early after joining the Saudi side in 2021.
He was likely deemed surplus to requirements due to the Riyadh-based outfit's acquisitions of Neymar, Aleksandar Mitrovic and Malcom this summer.
