Tony Docherty's Dundee go into the derby needing to pick up points in their battle to avoid the drop

- Celtic are 16 points clear of Rangers ahead of their Old Firm clash
- Dundee United have been drawing at half time in 11 of their 14 home games
- St Johnstone last had a 0-0 draw 15 months ago

Sunday sees two huge derbies in Glasgow and Dundee as the Scottish Premiership season approaches its climax.

There are also four games on Saturday, all with implications for European qualification, relegation or staying in or out of the top six going into the split.

Hearts vs Ross County (Saturday, 3pm)

Hearts and Ross County are both in good form with each having recorded three wins in their last four matches as they prepare to meet at Tynecastle.

Neil Critchley's Hearts are seventh, one place above County, who are the lowest away scorers in the division with just 11 goals scored on their travels.

Both previous meetings between the sides this season ended in scoring draws so these well-balanced outfits could complete the hat-trick.

Score prediction: Hearts 2-2 Ross County

Kilmarnock vs Hibernian (Saturday, 3pm)

Kilmarnock have lost three in a row as they prepare to welcome Hibernian to Rugby Park, though their home form is more encouraging.

Killie have beaten Rangers and Aberdeen at home this season and drew 1-1 with Hibs back in September.

Hibs, however, are a different beast now with Celtic the only team to have beaten them since the end of November.

Score prediction: Kilmarnock 1-3 Hibernian

Motherwell vs St Mirren (Saturday, 3pm)

Motherwell and St Mirren return after two-week breaks and the Steelmen are hoping old boy Mikael Mandron does not continue his hot streak against them.

Mandron, who played for the 'Well before heading to Paisley, has scored five in his last seven but in a St Mirren side who have lost seven of their last 10.

They have won five of their last 10 on their travels, however, and can trouble a Motherwell squad still finding their feet under Michael Wimmer.

Score prediction: Motherwell 1-1 St Mirren

St Johnstone vs Aberdeen (Saturday, 5pm)

Scottish Cup semi-finalists St Johnstone have picked up considerably with six wins in their last nine in all competitions — yet they remain rooted to the foot of the table.

Earlier in the season this would have been an away banker — and the Dons did win at McDiarmid Park 2-1 in August — but that Aberdeen has gone off the simmer. Games between these two are historically close and so might this one be.

Score prediction: St Johnstone 1-1 Aberdeen

Celtic vs Rangers (Sunday, 12.30pm)

Brendan Rodgers' Celtic will look to avenge their 3-0 defeat at Rangers in January

It is hard to believe Rangers will have anything left in the tank after Thursday night's gruelling slog against Fenerbahce in the Europa League.

Adrenaline will only take the Gers so far and 16 points adrift of Celtic in the league, this has the look of a home banker.

Celtic have hit five in each of their last two Premiership games and could go close to that against their bitterest rivals.

Score prediction: Celtic 4-1 Rangers

Dundee United vs Dundee (Sunday, 3pm)

It is three points out of a possible 24 for Dundee, who are dropping like a stone ahead of their short hop to Tannadice.

United are not exactly in sparkling form themselves but are expected to finish in the top six.

They have not lost at home to their neighbours since 2004 and can avenge January's Cup loss at Dens Park by nicking a feisty victory.

Score prediction: Dundee United 1-0 Dundee
