Findlay Marshall struck a stunning stoppage-time equaliser to earn promotion-chasing Cove Rangers a 1-1 draw at home to Montrose in William Hill League One.
Marshall thundered a shot into the top corner from Fraser Fyvie’s set-piece as Cove moved to within three points of leaders Stenhousemuir.
Owen Stirton thought he had helped Montrose snap a six-game winless run by scoring his fourth goal in three games since joining on loan from Dundee United inside the first minute of the second half.
Cove had gone closest to breaking the deadlock in the first half when Marshall saw his strike hit the crossbar while top scorer Mitch Megginson had several chances before the dramatic finish.
