The Premier League offered up a double gameweek for several clubs as they played catch-up ahead of the final stretch of the season.

Newcastle and Aston Villa continued their fine form and both picked up six points while Leicester and Nottingham Forest did little to improve their hopes of survival.

We take a look at some of the best and worst fantasy performers across five days of exciting action on GW29.

Gameweek 29 top performers

Callum Wilson (Newcastle)

Newcastle defeated Manchester United and West Ham with Callum Wilson a key contributor in both successes.

The Magpies' centre forward grabbed a goal in the 2-0 win over United on Sunday before bagging a brace in the 5-1 demolition of the Hammers.

A 19-point return will bring jubilation for 2.9% of players who are hoping that the 31-year-old will get the nod again when Eddie Howe's men travel to Brentford on Saturday.

Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa)

Ollie Watkins proved his pedigree for Villa by netting his eighth goal in 10 appearances in the 2-1 win at Leicester on Tuesday.

Villa's spearhead has been a revelation under Unai Emery and his 17-point haul makes him the week's second-highest scorer behind Wilson.

Emery's men are now unbeaten in six matches and Watkins will be hoping to add to his tally at home to Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Gabriel Jesus (Arsenal)

League leaders Arsenal only played once on GW29 but their convincing win over Leeds was enough to earn Gabriel Jesus 12 points.

Jesus scored his first goals since October 1 by netting a brace against the West Yorkshire outfit, as the Gunners ran out 4-1 victors.

The next stop on the North Londoners' title charge is a trip to Liverpool on Sunday.

Gameweek 29 worst performers

James Maddison (Leicester)

James Maddison struggled to make an impact as Leicester lost to Crystal Palace and Villa.

The Foxes' creative midfielder picked up just four points over two matches much to the disappointment of over 11% of fantasy fanatics.

As the club search for Brendan Rodgers' replacement, Maddison will be looking to return to form when Bournemouth come to the King Power Stadium in what is set to be a relegation six-pointer.

Kai Havertz (Chelsea)

Like Leicester, Chelsea endured a turbulent gameweek which resulted in a change in the dugout, with Graham Potter sacked after Saturday's loss to Villa.

And a misfiring Kai Havertz was at part to blame as the Blues failed to score against either Unai Emery's visitors or Liverpool.

The German finisher's four points over two games is a decline from the eight he picked up against Everton on GW28 but the arrival of Frank Lampard on an interim basis may spark new life into the 23-year-old.

Keylor Navas (Nottingham Forest)

Nottingham Forest remain in serious risk of relegation despite handing manager Steve Cooper a vote of confidence.

Forest stopper Keylor Navas earned only four points across two outings, as Cooper's men picked up a solitary point from huge clashes with bottom-half rivals Wolves and Leeds.

Navas will be unlikely to record a clean sheet when he takes his place between the sticks at Villa Park on Saturday.
