Draw

Everton took a while to get going in the Premier League this season, losing their first four matches, but they have been beaten only twice more in their 13 subsequent top-flight fixtures.

Neither of those losses was at home, and the Toffees are now on a six-game unbeaten run in their final league campaign at Goodison Park.

Sean Dyche's team have taken root in 15th place in the table and their form over their last four games has been excellent with a 4-0 thrashing of Wolves followed by creditable draws against Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City.

Nottingham Forest have been in the top half of the table from the outset, avoiding defeat in their first five league games, and Nuno Espirito Santo's team have won eight of their last 11 league assignments, including the last four against Manchester United, Aston Villa, Brentford and Tottenham.

They have not drawn since early October, but might be happy enough with a point against an improving Everton team as they make an unexpected challenge for a Champions League place.

Team news

There is a chance that Everton will be boosted by the return of winger Dwight McNeil after several weeks out with a knee injury and Ashley Young is available again after a one-match suspension.

Iliman Ndiaye and Seamus Coleman were both substituted after picking up knocks in the draw against Manchester City and will be assessed.

Forest will not be able to call on midfielder Ryan Yates due to suspension but Nicolas Dominguez is available again after his own ban.

Danilo is close to returning after a broken ankle but is not likely to be back for this match and Ibrahim Sangare is still sidelined.

The stats

Nuno Espirito Santo's Forest have lost only twice on the road so far in the Premier League this season
Nuno Espirito Santo's Forest have lost only twice on the road so far in the Premier League this season

Everton have lost only two of their eight home league games this season..

The Toffees have been beaten in just two of their last 13 matches.

Both teams have scored in only two of Everton's last 11 games.

Everton are unbeaten in their last four matches against Forest.

Forest have conceded three goals in three of their four league defeats.

The Tricky Trees have allowed just one goal across their last three games.

Prediction

Both these teams are on four-match unbeaten runs and they could both be on five-game streaks without losing by Sunday night.

Forest's aversion to draws cannot last forever and if any team can lure them into a tight contest it should be stalemate specialists Everton.

Sean Dyche's side have been good enough to share the spoils with top teams Newcastle, Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal, but they have also been limited to one-point returns by Leicester, West Ham and Brentford.

The suspension of Forest's Ryan Yates after his fifth yellow card of the season could make life easier for Everton in midfield and with the home fans likely to be in fine voice after the positive recent performances this could be a tight and potentially entertaining festive fixture.
