Derby vs QPR predictions: Rams to halt slide
- Derby have won four of their five home games in all competitions
- QPR have managed just one win in eight league games
- Recommended bet: Derby to win
Derby made a bright start to the season with nine points from five games after winning promotion, but a run of three defeats has left them in need of a boost.
Visitors QPR are seeking just their second league win of the season but they have picked up some decent results on their travels.
The Hoops’ one win came at relegated Luton, and they have also taken points in two games in Sheffield, at United and Wednesday.
Team news
Callum Elder has missed the last two games for Derby and he is rated as a doubt for the visit of QPR.
Boss Paul Warne could opt to recall Nathaniel Mendez-Laing and Kayden Jackson to his starting XI after they featured as substitutes in the 2-0 midweek defeat at Sunderland.
QPR will be without Jake Clarke-Salter, Liam Morrison and Jack Colback but Jonathan Varane returns from suspension.
The stats
Derby have won three of their four home games in the league and all three of those wins have been accompanied by clean sheets.
QPR have picked up five of their seven points on their travels.
Both teams have scored in 10 of QPR’s 11 games across all competitions and they are yet to keep a clean sheet.
QPR have won all of the last five meetings between the sides.
Prediction
Derby made a positive start to life back in the Championship with nine points from five games after a two-year stay in League One, but a run of three defeats has seen them drop down the standings.
The Rams have had a tough batch of games as those defeats have come against Norwich, Sheffield United and Sunderland, and the visit of QPR offers a chance of some respite.
The visitors will be no pushovers as Rangers' best results have come on the road in the early stages of the season and they have only lost once on their travels in four games.
However, home advantage should still work in Derby’s favour as they have been solid at Pride Park.
Warne’s men had three wins and three clean sheets at home before losing out 3-2 when entertaining Norwich, and they were perhaps unlucky to get nothing from that fixture as they created more chances than the Canaries.
QPR went down 3-1 at home to Hull in midweek and they are now on a five-game winless run in all competitions, while Derby’s home form remains impressive despite their recent struggles.
