Bundesliga predictions - Week 6
- Borussia Dortmund's last five games in all competitions have tallied 29 goals
- Leaders Bayern Munich face second-place Eintracht Frankfurt
- Bottom two Bochum and Holstein Kiel are still yet to win
Matchday six in the Bundesliga takes place between Friday and Sunday, with nine games scheduled in the German top flight.
Among the highlights are free-scoring Borussia Dortmund's trip to the capital to face Union Berlin, while the match of the round looks set to be Sunday's contest between the top two, Eintracht Frankfurt and Bayern Munich.
Augsburg vs Borussia Monchengladbach (Friday, 7.30pm)
Friday's fixture looks like the perfect chance for Augsburg to snap their two-game losing run against Borussia Monchengladbach, who, despite winning at Bochum in August, are notoriously poor on the road.
Die Fohlen have only won three times away from home in the last two seasons and look set to struggle again.
Score prediction: Augsburg 2-0 Borussia Monchengladbach
Bayer Leverkusen vs Holstein Kiel (Saturday, 2.30pm)
Bayer Leverkusen drew 1-1 at Bayern Munich last weekend and backed it up with a rare clean sheet in their 1-0 Champions League victory over Milan.
Next up are newly-promoted Holstein Kiel, who, despite still chasing their first win, have scored in four of their five outings and can grab a consolation strike.
Score prediction: Bayer Leverkusen 4-1 Holstein Kiel
Union Berlin vs Borussia Dortmund (Saturday, 2.30pm)
Borussia Dortmund have recovered from their 5-1 defeat at Stuttgart and being 2-0 down at Heidenheim by beating the latter 4-2 and then smashing Celtic 7-1 in the Champions League.
Union Berlin have won both of their home games by a single goal but look unlikely to be able to resist BVB's brilliant attack.
Score prediction: Union Berlin 1-3 Borussia Dortmund
VFL Bochum vs Wolfsburg (Saturday, 2.30pm)
Bochum spurned a two-goal advantage in their derby defeat at Dortmund and are yet to win in this season's Bundesliga. They host a Wolfsburg side who are without a victory in three but that has also been in the goals.
More of the same looks likely at the Ruhrstadion.
Score prediction: VFL Bochum 2-2 Wolfsburg
Werder Bremen vs SC Freiburg (Saturday, 2.30pm)
Werder Bremen have beaten Mainz and Hoffenheim either side of an excusable 5-0 defeat to Bayern Munich.
They face a Freiburg side recovering from a 3-0 home defeat to St Pauli and perhaps lacking confidence.
Score prediction: Werder Bremen 2-1 SC Freiburg
St Pauli vs Mainz (Saturday, 5.30pm)
St Pauli have shown significant improvement in drawing against RB Leipzig and then winning at Freiburg.
They can maintain their trajectory with a first home victory back in the Bundesliga against an inconsistent Mainz side.
Score prediction: St Pauli 1-0 Mainz
Heidenheim vs RB Leipzig (Sunday, 2.30pm)
Heidenheim recovered from a pair of defeats to beat Mainz last weekend and can leapfrog RB Leipzig with a win on Sunday.
However, Die Bullen have already drawn at Frankfurt and beaten Bayer Leverkusen on the road and can edge a thriller.
Score prediction: Heidenheim 2-3 RB Leipzig
Eintracht Frankfurt vs Bayern Munich (Sunday, 4.30pm)
The top two meet at Deutsche Bank Park when Bayern are likely to improve their lead at the top of the standings.
Vincent Kompany's side drew with Leverkusen last weekend but had triumphed 5-0 at Werder Bremen before that and can brush Die Adler aside.
Score prediction: Eintracht Frankfurt 1-4 Bayern Munich
Stuttgart vs Hoffenheim (Sunday 6.30pm)
Stuttgart will have been disappointed by Tuesday's 1-1 Champions League draw against Sparta Prague but can bounce back against Hoffenheim.
The Sinsheim outfit have lost their last four in the league and look to be in for a long season.
Score prediction: Stuttgart 3-1 Hoffenheim
