- Bristol City lost 1-0 at home to Swansea on Sunday
- Stoke lost on penalties to Cardiff in the FA Cup on Saturday
- Recommended bet: Draw or Stoke Double Chance
Stoke have won on their last two trips to Ashton Gate to face Bristol City and will be hopeful of another positive result to make up for FA Cup disappointment at the weekend.
Team news
Bristol City boss Liam Manning is still without midfielder Joe Williams, who serves the second game of a three-match ban.
Wing-back Ross McCrorie, however, is available after sitting out a suspension in the 1-0 home loss to Swansea.
Manning will be hoping that the injury which forced defender Luke McNally off against the Swans is not too serious.
Stoke were able to welcome back long-termers Ben Pearson, Bosun Lawal, Ben Gibson and Emre Tezgel against Cardiff on Saturday and all four can expect more minutes.
Lynden Gooch is one of several players still out though Nathan Lowe and Ali Al-Hamadi, cup-tied at the weekend, can return.
The stats
![Liam Manning's Bristol City have lacked consistency of late, winning just one and losing three of their last six games](https://uk1.sportal365images.com/process/smp-image-api/livescore.com/11022025/c417e71d-abc9-46a3-90c6-2a6ecbe24eaa.jpg?operations=fit(707:)&w=707&quality=100)
Bristol City have won just one of their last six matches.
Stoke have lost one of their last nine matches, one in seven under new boss Mark Robins.
Only Plymouth (5) have scored fewer away goals in the Championship than Stoke (10).
Eighteen of Bristol City's games and 19 of Stoke's have produced two goals or under.
A league-high 18 Stoke matches have been level at half-time.
Prediction
Mark Robins appears to have improved the fortunes of Stoke City and with players coming back from injury they should get better as the season develops.
Saturday's 3-3 draw with Cardiff in the FA Cup that ended in shoot-out heartache was a kick in the teeth.
But Bristol City also disappointed at the weekend, losing 1-0 at home to Swansea.
That also means Stoke have had 24 hours extra rest for this assignment while two of their window recruits, free-scoring Nathan Lowe and Ipswich loanee Ali Al-Hamadi, go fresh for the Potters after weekends off.
The Championship has been littered with draws this season and these two have combined for 23 of them. Indeed, the first meeting in the Potteries ended 2-2.
Bristol City's home form is decent enough but they are struggling to win games of late and there is no doubt that Stoke look a sterner test than they might have done, say six weeks ago.
Stoke will fancy they can win this, at the very least avoid defeat, and that brings the Draw or Stoke option in LiveScore Bet's Double Chance market into focus.
