- Chelsea are
the Premier League's top scorers with 31 goals so far
- Recommended bet:
Chelsea to win

Chelsea have plenty in their favour as they prepare to make the short hop across London to take on Tottenham.

Enzo Maresca's free-scoring Blues started the weekend second in the table following Wednesday's 5-1 win at Southampton and take on an out-of-form, injury-plagued Tottenham, who have had 24 hours less to prepare for this derby clash.

Team news

Tottenham have got a major defensive crisis on their hands with Ben Davies joining Micky van de Ven and Cristiano Romero on the treatment table. It means Archie Gray could pair up with Radu Dragusin in central defence for the hosts.

Keeper Guglielmo Vicario plus Richarlison, Mikey Moore and Wilson Odobert all remain out.

Robert Sanchez will return in goal for Chelsea after Maresca surprisingly handed Filip Jorgensen a start at Southampton on Wednesday.

Maresca could also recall Romeo Lavia, Pedro Neto or Jadon Sancho as he utilises his squad, while Nicolas Jackson was given a night off at St Mary’s but should return to the starting XI now.

Defenders Reece James and Wesley Fofana are the only noted absentees.

The stats

Spurs have lost eight of their past 11 Premier League clashes with Chelsea, drawing two and winning one.

They have kept just one clean in their last 22 home top-flight fixtures.

They have conceded the opening goal in 13 of their 16 Premier League matches at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in 2024.

Chelsea have won on five of their seven visits to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in all competitions.

The Blues are unbeaten in seven in all competitions, winning their last four.

They are the Premier League's top scorers with 31 goals and their 19-goal road tally is three better than anyone starting the latest round of games.

Prediction

Tottenham's famed lack of consistency will always make them difficult to write off, and there are some who doubtless think 11/5 with LiveScore Bet about a side who recently went to Manchester City and won 4-0 is eye-catching.

But it was Thursday night's shambles at Bournemouth which is more of an issue than that triumph at The Etihad.

Not only were Spurs dreadful in a 1-0 loss which should have been far worse, but they lost another defender - Ben Davies - to injury.

If the Cherries could rip them apart at will, then you have to believe the division's top scorers, Chelsea, will have an absolute field day.

The Blues have a good record at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium anyway and will be buoyant after their midweek 5-1 thumping of Southampton. They will also be fresher having had an extra 24 hours to prepare for this encounter.

Chelsea are on a four-game winning streak and can make it five as Spurs appear to be there for the taking.
