Sutton earned their first Vanarama National League win in six games after beating Southend 3-1.

The Shrimpers took the lead in the 11th minute when a clearance from goalkeeper Steve Arnold dropped to Gus Scott-Morriss, who fired the ball home from distance to bag his sixth goal of the season.

However, Sutton equalised in the fifth minute of first-half stoppage time through skipper Josh Coley, who took the ball around the goalkeeper and tucked home.

The U’s took advantage six minutes after the break when Lewis Simper struck from a corner and they wrapped up victory in the 75th minute when Will Davies crossed into Ashley Nadesan, who tapped home from close range.
