Peterborough’s wait for a League One victory stretched to a month but they stopped play-off-chasing Leyton Orient’s five-game winning run with a 0-0 draw at London Road.

Darren Ferguson ushered new loan signings Tayo Edun and Sam Hughes straight into his defence and they helped keep a first league clean sheet of the season.

Posh started brightly and went close as Cian Hayes forced O’s stopper Josh Keeley into a good save with Malik Mothersille unable to pounce on the rebound.

The visitors’ only real chance before the break was a tame effort from Charlie Kelman which was easily kept out by Nicholas Bilokapic.

After the break, Orient’s Tom James woke up the fans as his free-kick hit the post.

Both sides pushed hard for a late winner, with Hughes making a great one-on-one tackle.

Abraham Odoh came close to stealing it for the hosts with his first league goal of the campaign when he fired into the side netting.
