Boss Erik ten Hag will hope Manchester United extend their winning run against Omonia Nicosia

Manchester United are currently sat second in Group E going into Matchday 4 of the Europa League when they host Omonia Nicosia.

Erik ten Hag's men are back at Old Trafford after four consecutive away games in all competitions, looking to build on back-to-back wins in Cyprus and then at Everton.

Their opponents are currently bottom of the group after last week's 3-2 defeat and they need a positive result to stand a chance of extending their run in Europe by moving into the Europa Conference League with a third-place finish.

Team news

The hosts will be without French forward Anthony Martial who was forced off in the first half at Goodison Park with a back injury.

Cristiano Ronaldo replaced him on Sunday and the Portuguese phenomenon could start again on Thursday night, although Marcus Rashford is another attacking option for Ten Hag.

Donny van de Beek and Harry Maguire are expected to miss out due to recent fitness issues, but Raphael Varane could start after the former Real Madrid man came on as a substitute in the win at Everton.

One major concern for Omonia boss Neil Lennon is the fitness of his first-choice goalkeeper Fabiano, who played well in the first match between the two sides.

The Brazilian suffered an injury during their 1-0 defeat at AEL Limassol on Monday and is reportedly rated doubtful.

United's home form in Europe has not been that impressive in recent times, winning just two of their last five Europa League ties at Old Trafford.

They should, though, have more than enough, even if Ten Hag makes multiple changes, to see off last season's Cypriot Cup winners — who are currently sixth in their domestic league.

Last week's meeting was the first time the two sides had ever faced each other in a competitive fixture, with United coming out on top in a five-goal thriller.

The Red Devils are yet to keep a clean sheet in four home games so far this season, but this looks the ideal opportunity for Ten Hag's backline to put that right and keep their opponents at arm's length.

Omonia have lost four of their last five games on the road, including a 2-1 defeat at Real Sociedad in their second Group E game.

Prediction

United have shown some good signs off the back of their Manchester derby mauling and will know a win on Thursday will put them on the brink of qualifying for the knockout stages.

Their opponents have already conceded eight goals in three games in the group and it looks like being another tough night for Lennon's squad.

As well as winning the match, the Premier League giants also edged the corner count in Cyprus and that leads us towards a Match Special selection on Thursday evening.

United to win both halves and for them to also win the most corners in both halves is an appealing 2/1 via LiveScore Bet.
