Real Madrid can put further distance between themselves and the rest of LaLiga when they face third-placed Sevilla on Sunday.

The leaders travel to Andalusia to face a side desperate for points to avoid missing out on Champions League qualification.

Elsewhere on Matchday 32, Barcelona will look to maintain their sensational form under Xavi as they host relegation-threatened Cadiz while Real Sociedad entertain Real Betis in the race for Europe.

Game of the week: Sevilla vs Real Madrid (Sunday, 8pm)

Hoping to stay at least 12 points clear of Barca, Madrid take on a Sevilla side that had been challenging for the title but now sit just four points clear of fifth place.

Los Blancos are on their best-ever winning streak in Andalusia (seven games) and have only failed to score on one of their last 32 trips to the region.

That could spell danger for Sevilla, who have yet to lose at home this season and are on their longest winless run against Real (six games) for 19 years.

Talking of danger, LaLiga top scorer Karim Benzema is a man bang in form — though Real's star striker has found the net just once on 10 previous visits to the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

Should Sevilla spring a surprise and take all three points, it will be Julen Lopetegui's first victory over his old side at the sixth attempt.

Here are the other big games to watch this weekend…

Barcelona vs Cadiz (Monday, 8pm)

Second-placed Barcelona are aiming to make it 16 LaLiga games unbeaten as they welcome Cadiz to Camp Nou.

Barca have not tasted defeat in eight matches played on a Monday, winning seven before drawing 1-1 at home to Granada earlier this season.

By contrast, Cadiz have never won on a Monday in the top flight, losing four out of seven fixtures to date.

Luuk de Jong enters this game having scored the most headed goals in LaLiga this term (five) while the Blaugrana's 15 is the joint-most in Europe's top five leagues.

As for Cadiz's Alvaro Negredo, he will be trying to find the net at Camp Nou for the first time. Only at Real's Bernabeu has the veteran forward made as many appearances without scoring (six).

Real Sociedad vs Real Betis (Friday, 8pm)

Two sides in contention for a top-four finish go head-to-head in San Sebastian as Real Sociedad host Real Betis.

If La Real avoid defeat, they will equal their best-ever unbeaten home run against Betis (13 games). They come into this clash having won five and drawn one of their last six home matches.

The visitors went 11 games unbeaten to end 2020-21 and look set for another strong finish under Manuel Pellegrini. Avoid defeat and they will go five matches without losing for the first time this term.

As if their home form did not make Betis' task tough enough, Imanol Alguacil's men have also kept a clean sheet in each of their last six outings at Anoeta.

Borja Iglesias represents their best chance of ending that run. He has notched six in 2022, making him the leading Spanish scorer in Europe's top five leagues since the turn of the year.

Atletico Madrid vs Espanyol (Saturday, 3.15pm)

Atletico Madrid will be determined to bounce back from their midweek Champions League elimination when they take on Espanyol, who could move into the top half with a win.

Last Saturday's loss to Mallorca was Atleti's eighth of the campaign. Never before have they lost as many after 31 games of a full season under Diego Simeone.

Espanyol head to the Wanda Metropolitano looking to become the second team, behind Levante, to record two LaLiga victories there.

Luis Suarez's involvement has been limited of late but the Uruguayan has scored 10 goals in 13 previous appearances against the visitors — more than against all bar two other LaLiga opponents.

Key to Espanyol's fortunes could well be Sergi Darder. The midfielder has been involved in eight of Los Periquitos' last 12 goals, assisting six and scoring two.

Granada vs Levante (Saturday, 1pm)

Granada and Levante face off with both sides battling at the foot of the table to avoid relegation.

The hosts have lost just one of their last seven encounters with Levante, having suffered five defeats in the previous seven meetings.

However, Granada are one of only five teams against whom the visitors have won (three) more away matches than they have lost (two).

Darwin Machis will be hoping to continue his strong record against Levante. The Venezuelan has scored three goals in his last four appearances against them — each with a different body part.

Meanwhile, Levante's Roberto Soldado will be attempting to add to the solitary goal he has in seven games against his former club. The 36-year-old scored 33 times against his ex-employers.

The weekend's other games
