Halifax boosted their promotion hopes with a 1-0 victory at home to Yeovil in the Vanarama National League.

Angelo Cappello scored the only goal for the Shaymen in the 13th minute after bursting down the left and firing a low shot into the far corner.

Brett McGavin almost equalised for Yeovil five minutes after half-time but his effort from the edge of the box hit the bar.

Halifax, who are sixth, could have wrapped the game up late on but Joshua Emmanuel fired over following a quick break.
