The Premier League matches keep coming thick and fast and there is no time for fantasy football players to take their eye off the ball as we head into week 23 of the season.

Here are five players you should be looking to get into your squad for a busy weekend of top-flight English action.

Bart Verbruggen, Brighton (Goalkeeper)

Everton started life under David Moyes with a 3-2 win over Tottenham on Sunday, but the returning boss needs to make huge strides on the road and that may take time.

The Toffees have won just once in 21 away games in the league and have failed to score in 11 of those matches, so take a chance that Brighton’s Bart Verbruggen, who is available at £4.5m, can keep a clean sheet when the Merseysiders visit the Amex Stadium on Saturday.

Verbruggen’s team are unbeaten in their last six and have had their confidence boosted by successive away wins at Ipswich and Manchester United.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Liverpool (Defender)

Those with triple-captain options still available will undoubtedly be eyeing Mohamed Salah for Liverpool’s home game against Ipswich, but it is worth taking a look at Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The Reds should keep a clean sheet against a team who were brushed aside by Manchester City last week and even though Alexander-Arnold is a hefty £7.2m, he can build on providing his fifth assist of the season in last week’s 2-0 win over Brentford.

The full-back should be able to push forward and had four efforts on goal against the Bees, so a second goal of the season may not be out of the question either.

Eberechi Eze, Crystal Palace (Midfielder)

Crystal Palace are unbeaten in the last 10 league matches that Eberechi Eze has started and the midfielder has had plenty of positive impacts in the Eagles’ recent outings.

He scored in the 2-1 win over Southampton in their final game of 2024 and followed that with assists in the following three matches, a 1-1 draw against Chelsea and 2-0 victories over Leicester and West Ham.

Palace face Brentford this weekend, who have beaten only the sorry Saints in their last nine matches and also lost to Championship strugglers Plymouth in the FA Cup, so Eze could have another big say at £6.7m.

Richarlison, Tottenham (Forward)

There is little to smile about at Tottenham, but Richarlison should see the current injury crisis as a great opportunity after a frustrating start to the season.

With Dominic Solanke one of those on the treatment table, the Brazilian could be given his opportunity against a poor Leicester side on Saturday.

He had three efforts on goal after coming on at Everton as a half-time substitute and scored Tottenham’s goal, so he could be worth a gamble at £6.8m against a Leicester team who have lost their last seven games.

Alexander Isak, Newcastle (Forward)

Alexander Isak has been a fantasy football star for the last two months but it is still not too late to jump on the train at £9.4m.

His Newcastle team suffered a shock 4-1 home defeat to Bournemouth last week, which ended the Swede’s run of scoring in eight successive league matches and he should be licking his lips about facing bottom-of-the-table Southampton.

Isak has already shown his liking for taking on strugglers after scoring a hat-trick at Ipswich and two in a home win over Wolves, so there is a strong chance he can fill his boots at St Mary’s.
