- Leeds are top of the table, two points clear of Sheffield United
- Burnley, Sunderland, West Brom and Blackburn sit in play-off places
- Derby, Luton and Plymouth currently occupy relegation spots

Another busy midweek looms in the Championship with all 24 teams in action across Tuesday and Wednesday.

Leaders Leeds go to Watford, while second-placed Sheffield United host Middlesbrough and play-off hopefuls West Brom and Blackburn Rovers meet at The Hawthorns.

Coventry City vs Queens Park Rangers (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Coventry and QPR are locked together on 41 points in mid-table and these two well-matched teams may play out an entertaining draw on Tuesday.

Score prediction: Coventry City 2-2 Queens Park Rangers

Derby County vs Oxford United (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Derby sacked Paul Warne last week after a terrible seven-game losing run in the Championship and placed Matt Hamshaw in interim charge and he was able to end the dire streak by securing a late 1-1 draw at Norwich on Saturday.

The Rams are in the relegation zone and desperately need a victory against an Oxford side who saw their impressive nine-game unbeaten league run come to an end last time out when they lost narrowly at promotion hopefuls Burnley.

Score prediction: Derby County 2-1 Oxford United

Portsmouth vs Cardiff City (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Portsmouth have lost three of their last four games and may have to settle for a point at home to Cardiff, who bounced back from their 7-0 humiliation at Leeds by securing a place in the FA Cup fifth round when beating Stoke City on penalties on Saturday.

Score prediction: Portsmouth 1-1 Cardiff City

Watford vs Leeds United (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Leeds remain on course for the title after seeing off Coventry 2-0 away last week, although the Whites must pick themselves up for the trip to Watford after going down 2-0 at home to Millwall in the FA Cup on Saturday.

The leaders should make it 14 games unbeaten in the league with victory over the Hornets, who ended their three-game losing streak with an eye-catching 2-2 draw at Sunderland over the weekend.

Score prediction: Watford 0-1 Leeds United

Norwich City vs Preston North End (Tuesday, 8pm)

Norwich are now three games unbeaten although they will be frustrated at conceding a late equaliser at home to struggling Derby over the weekend.

They get the chance to quickly return to winning ways when they host Preston, who edged out Wycombe on penalties in the FA Cup in their last outing.

Score prediction: Norwich 2-1 Preston North End

Bristol City vs Stoke City (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Bristol City slipped to a 1-0 defeat at home to Swansea on Sunday, but they can bounce back by seeing off Stoke, who have won just one of their last six Championship games, at Ashton Gate on Wednesday.

Score prediction: Bristol City 2-0 Stoke City

Burnley vs Hull City (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Burnley are still in the automatic promotion picture as the Clarets are third, just three points behind Sheffield United directly above.

They will approach Wednesday's home clash with Hull on a high after dumping Premier League Southampton out of the FA Cup over the weekend.

Incredibly, Scott Parker's team – who have the best defensive record in the country – have kept nine clean sheets in a row in the league and recorded yet another shutout when beating Saints 1-0 away in the cup.

Burnley should pick up a familiar home win to nil when they host the Tigers, who are only a point and a place above the relegation zone.

Score prediction: Burnley 2-0 Hull City

Plymouth vs Millwall (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Fresh from causing a huge upset in the FA Cup by beating Premier League leaders Liverpool, Plymouth will look to back it up by picking up three points at Home Park when Millwall visit.

The Pilgrims are bottom of the table, but will be on a high after their weekend heroics and they can see off the Lions, who also progressed to the fifth round of the FA Cup thanks to a 2-0 win at Leeds.

Score prediction: Plymouth Argyle 2-1 Millwall

Sunderland vs Luton Town (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Sunderland extended their unbeaten league run to seven games when they drew with Watford on Saturday and the Black Cats, who are fourth and just two points behind Burnley above, can secure a vital win over relegation-threatened Luton.

Score prediction: Sunderland 3-1 Luton Town

Swansea City vs Sheffield Wednesday (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Swansea's four-game losing run came to an end when they edged out Bristol City 1-0 on Sunday and they can record back-to-back victories with a home win over the Owls, who lost 2-1 late on at West Brom on Saturday.

Score prediction: Swansea City 3-2 Sheffield Wednesday

Sheffield United vs Middlesbrough (Wednesday, 8pm)

Sheffield United maintained their promotion push by overcoming Portsmouth 2-1 over the weekend and, in one of the stand-out games this week, the Blades should stay in touch with Leeds at the top by beating Boro, who are just one place below the play-off positions.

Score prediction: Sheffield United 3-1 Middlesbrough

West Brom vs Blackburn Rovers (Wednesday, 8pm)

Two sides in the play-off mix go head-to-head at The Hawthorns and the hosts should emerge victorious to make it 12 home games without defeat.

Blackburn boss John Eustace is being heavily linked with the vacant position at Derby and Rovers, who have lost four of their last five games in the Championship, could struggle against Albion.

Score prediction: West Brom 3-0 Blackburn Rovers
