Arne Slot's Liverpool are aiming for an eighth win from eight matches in the Champions League

- Liverpool sit top of the table after a perfect campaign of seven wins from seven games
- Barcelona are the only other team who can top the standings
- Between eighth and 18th in the table, there are six clubs on 13 points and five on 12 points

The league phase of the Champions League concludes with all 18 fixtures being played simultaneously on Wednesday, kicking off at 8pm,

Nine of the 36 teams have been eliminated but with Manchester City among those outside of the play-off spots, it is sure to be a thrilling evening of football.

Aston Villa vs Celtic (Wednesday, 8pm)

Aston Villa (9th) look to be fatiguing but can pull out one more big performance, although it might not be enough to make the top eight. They face a Celtic side with a top 24 spot secured and hoping to seal home seeding in the play-offs.

Score prediction: Aston Villa 2-1 Celtic

Barcelona vs Atalanta (Wednesday, 8pm)

Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini is aiming for another upset at Barcelona

Barcelona (2nd) are already through to the last 16 and with them unlikely to overhaul Liverpool, could be vulnerable against a determined Atalanta (7th) side. La Dea need a win to finish in the top eight and could well get it.

Score prediction: Barcelona 1-3 Atalanta

Bayer Leverkusen vs Sparta Prague (Wednesday, 8pm)

Goal difference means even a win may not be enough for Bayer Leverkusen (8th) to qualify directly for the last 16. Already-eliminated Sparta Prague (29th) could be the perfect opponent to both beat and boost their GD tally.

Score prediction: Bayer Leverkusen 4-1 Sparta Prague

Bayern Munich vs Slovan Bratislava (Wednesday, 8pm)

A third European defeat of the campaign at Feyenoord means Bayern (15th) are likely to have to settle for a play-off place and they should seal a home seeding with a big win against an exciting but underpowered Slovan Bratislava.

Score prediction: Bayern Munich 5-1 Slovan Bratislava

Borussia Dortmund vs Shakhtar Donetsk (Wednesday, 8pm)

Last season's beaten finalists, Borussia Dortmund (14th), previously looked destined for the top eight but now need results to go their way. Boss Nuri Sahin was sacked after the matchday seven defeat to Bologna but Shakhtar Donetsk (27th) are unlikely to get the victory required to boost their play-off hopes.

Score prediction: Borussia Dortmund 3-1 Shakhtar Donetsk

Brest vs Real Madrid (Wednesday, 8pm)

Carlo Ancelotti's Real Madrid have had a far from flawless campaign

Brest (13th) have been the fairytale story of the tournament and are aiming to cause another shock at home to holders Real Madrid (16th). Los Blancos have already lost in France – going down 1-0 at Lille – but can right that wrong in Guingamp.

Score prediction: Brest 0-2 Real Madrid

Dinamo Zagreb vs AC Milan (Wednesday, 8pm)

Seven-time winners AC Milan (6th) need a win to guarantee automatic qualification and can get it against a determined Dinamo Zagreb (26th) side who are yet to win at home in the league phase.

Score prediction: Dinamo Zagreb 1-3 AC Milan

Girona vs Arsenal (Wednesday, 8pm)

Girona (31st) have already been eliminated and Arsenal (3rd) should have no issues getting the point they need to finish in the top eight. However, a defeat would likely mean a play-off.

Score prediction: Girona 0-2 Arsenal

Inter Milan vs Monaco (Wednesday, 8pm)

Inter Milan (4th) have only conceded once in the league phase and can grind out another victory against Monaco (10th) to seal a top-eight spot. Adi Hutter's visitors are guaranteed a play-off place but not a home tie.

Score prediction: Inter Milan 1-0 Monaco

Juventus vs Benfica (Wednesday, 8pm)

Juventus boss Thiago Motta will want to avoid another draw
Juventus boss Thiago Motta will want to avoid another draw

Like in Serie A, draws have been Juventus's (17th) downfall in Europe and they face another former champion in Benfica (21st). A point apiece would suit both and they are well-matched.

Score prediction: Juventus 1-1 Benfica

Lille vs Feyenoord (Wednesday, 8pm)

Lille (12th) and Feyenoord (11th) have identical records (W4, D1, L2), although the Dutch side have scored six more goals. This visitors' only defeat since September came against Liverpool and they can extend that run.

Score prediction: Lille 1-1 Feyenoord

Manchester City vs Club Brugge (Wednesday, 8pm)

Manchester City (25th) were expected to romp through the league phase but are in danger of missing out on the top 24. The Citizens know a victory would secure a play-off place and they should have way too much for higher-ranked Club Brugge (20th).

Score prediction: Manchester City 5-1 Club Brugge

PSV vs Liverpool (Wednesday, 8pm)

Guaranteed a place in the last 16 and a top-two finish, a draw in Eindhoven will seal top spot for Liverpool (1st). PSV (19th) need a draw to guarantee a play-off and even so, it would take a strange run of results to see them fall out of the top 24.

Score prediction: PSV 1-2 Liverpool

Red Bull Salzburg vs Atletico Madrid (Wednesday, 8pm)

Another win for Atletico Madrid would secure a top eight place
Another win for Atletico Madrid would secure a top eight place

Salzburg (34th) are already out and Atletico Madrid (5th) should grab the win they need to seal a top-eight finish.

Score prediction: Red Bull Salzburg 1-3 Atletico Madrid

Sporting CP vs Bologna (Wednesday, 8pm)

A draw will be good enough for Sporting CP (23rd) to go through against already-eliminated Bologna (28th). However, I Rossoblu beat Borussia Dortmund on matchday seven and could prove awkward opponents.

Score prediction: Sporting CP 2-2 Bologna

Sturm Graz vs RB Leipzig (Wednesday, 8pm)

Both Sturm Graz (33rd) and RB Leipzig (30th) are unable to progress. Injuries have contributed to Leipzig having an especially disastrous campaign but they beat Sporting CP last time out and should at least finish on a high.

Score prediction: Sturm Graz 1-3 RB Leipzig

Stuttgart vs PSG (Wednesday, 8pm)

A draw should be good enough for a top 24 place for Stuttgart (24th) and PSG (22nd) but Les Parisiens were very good when beating Manchester City 4-2 last week. Stuttgart look to be hanging on and Luis Enrique's team can give the MHP Arena a nervous night.

Score prediction: Stuttgart 0-3 PSG

Young Boys vs Crvena Zvezda (Wednesday, 8pm)

Young Boys (36th) and Crvena Zvezda (32nd) are both out but they could still provide plenty of fun in Bern. The visitors, the 1991 European champions, lost 3-2 to PSV on matchday seven and can contribute to another exciting match.

Score prediction: Young Boys 2-3 Crvena Zvezda
