While the Premier League has stepped aside for the FA Cup fourth round, there is a packed weekend of crucial league games across the continent.

France and Germany have key relegation clashes which offer some great value, while AC Milan will be looking to climb up the table with a victory at struggling Empoli.

Saturday, 5pm

Empoli have won just once in 11 home matches, suffering five defeats. They head into this weekend following six defeats in eight, losing 4-1 to Juventus last time out.

This trip looks like a great opportunity for Milan, who progressed to the Coppa Italia semis with a 3-1 win over Roma this week. The Rossoneri do have a Champions League clash with Feyenoord on the horizon, but their push for a top four place in Serie A has to be their top priority.

Milan have won seven of 10 clashes with the league's bottom 10, including a 3-0 home win over Empoli.

It is hard to justify siding with favourites Rennes here, given that they have lost eight of their nine Ligue 1 trips this season. The visitors have lost 11 of 14 away games across all competitions and they sit just two points ahead of their opponents.

Saint-Etienne are battling to avoid the drop and home form has been the foundation of their survival push. The hosts have won five of nine at home, while they have only lost to second-placed Marseille across their last five at their own ground.

Sunday, 2.30pm

The Bundesliga's bottom two meet on Sunday, with the hosts aiming to follow up on a spirited 4-3 defeat at Bayern Munich.

They meet a Bochum side who have lost nine of their 10 away trips this season. Holstein Kiel do not have the greatest home record, but they have seen off Borussia Dortmund, Augsburg and Heidenheim on their own turf, winning two of their previous three at home.

Auxerre's only home defeat has come against Monaco, with the promoted side winning five of their 10 home games this season. While they have drawn four on the bounce in a tough run, they can return to their best this weekend.

Toulouse have a mixed away record, losing four of nine away trips. Auxerre can move level with the visitors with a victory, so back home advantage to swing it their way.

Sunday, 7.45pm

Angers have climbed up the Ligue 1 standings with a good run, but they have also had a kind run of fixtures to help them pull away from danger.

The hosts head into this clash having lost all four home meetings with the top seven, while opponents Marseille have won each of their visits to bottom-half clubs. The away side won 3-2 against Lyon last time out and they can continue that with another victory on Sunday.
