Five players for your Fantasy team this week
It is another busy week in the Premier League and Fantasy Football players will have to be aware that this is a double week for leaders Liverpool with matches against Bournemouth and Everton, so there is a great chance for some of Arne Slot’s star performers to bag a bevy of points in Week 24.
Here are five players you should be looking to get into your squad for a busy weekend of top-flight English action.
Trent Alexander-Arnold, Liverpool (Defender)
Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold remains the most expensive defender in the game at £7.3million, but he should be primed for action for his side’s double-header week having sat out their final league-stage match in the Champions League.
The full-back has been at the top of his game lately, providing assists in Liverpool’s last two victories over Brentford and Ipswich, which led to returns of 11 and five points.
It could be well worth shuffling the pack to accommodate the England man as Arne Slot’s side look to press home their advantage at the top of the table.
Kevin Schade, Brentford (Midfielder)
Brentford gained a valuable victory at Crystal Palace on Sunday and one of their star performers was Kevin Schade.
The German, who played as part of a front three for Thomas Frank’s team and is available to buy at £5.1m, netted an excellent second-half header that proved to be the game winner for the Bees and he should be confident he can make a telling contribution against Tottenham on Sunday.
Ange Postecoglou’s team have been patched up at the back for weeks and a visit from Spurs to the Gtech Community Stadium looks an ideal opportunity for Schade to increase his season’s tally of six league goals.
Justin Kluivert, Bournemouth (Midfielder)
Bournemouth are proving one of the surprise packages of this season’s Premier League and Justin Kluivert has been among their star performers.
The Dutchman scored his second hat-trick of the season in last week’s 5-0 win over Nottingham Forest and looks a snip at £5.7m.
Kluivert is on penalty duty for the Cherries and players should not be put off by the fact Liverpool visit the Vitality Stadium on Saturday, as Andoni Iraola’s side are unbeaten in their last 11 league games and will not fear anyone.
Cody Gakpo, Liverpool (Forward)
Plenty of players will take the opportunity to triple-captain Mo Salah in a double gameweek, but it is hard to accommodate the Egyptian at £13.7m if he is not already in your team.
A more feasible alternative is the Reds’ Dutch striker Cody Gakpo at a much more affordable £7.6m, as he has hit a rich vein of form, scoring five goals in his last six league outings for the leaders, including a brace in last week’s 4-1 win over Ipswich.
He should be equipped to flourish against Bournemouth and Everton and looks a strong selection in a big week for the Anfield outfit.
Iliman Ndiaye, Everton (Forward)
It should not just be Liverpool players you look at in this double gameweek, as Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye has caught the eye in the last couple of games since David Moyes returned to Goodison Park.
The Senegalese forward, who is available at £5.5m, scored the Toffees’ goal in their 1-1 draw at Manchester City in Week 18, but has shone in the last fortnight, producing a fine individual effort against Tottenham and then the winner at Brighton last week.
While a home clash with the leaders looks a tough fixture, Everton also have a home game against struggling Leicester on Saturday, which is a game Ndiaye could take by the scruff of the neck.
