Football fans love a player goalscorer bet and here are five candidates who look more than capable of hitting the net over the course of the weekend.

Pablo Duran, promoted from the second team for this season, is finally finding his feet in the Celta Vigo elite set-up.

The youngster has scored five goals since the start of December, including one in each of Celta's last two.

Only the top three in the Bundesliga have scored more goals than Wolfsburg this season, who will give it a go against Bayer Leverkusen on home soil.

The Wolves' front three of Jonas Wind, Mohamed Amoura and Tiago Tomas have combined for 21 league goals.

Wind, who takes penalties for Ralph Hasenhuttl's men, has got eight of those including six in his last nine, and looks overpriced to continue that streak.

It took Ben Brereton three games on his return to Bramall Lane to find the net again for Sheffield United, and he can make it two in two against Championship strugglers Portsmouth.

The Chilean international has been a consistent scorer for several seasons, has looked sharp since going back to Sheffield, and only Plymouth have shipped more goals than Pompey.

There is domestic cup action on either side of the England/Scotland border this weekend, with the Scottish Cup at its fifth round stage.

Holders Celtic are heavy favourites to retain the trophy and should have little difficulty brushing aside Raith Rovers of the second-tier Championship at Parkhead.

Worryingly for Raith, Celtic warmed up for the tie by battering Dundee 6-0 on Wednesday night, a game in which Daizen Maeda scored twice.

As Maeda is suspended for Celtic's Champions League showdown with Bayern Munich next week, expect the 18-goal Japanese striker to start - and score.

Rumours that Christopher Nkunku was on his way out of Stamford Bridge in the window proved untrue, and the striker can profit from a rare opportunity by scoring for Chelsea at Brighton in the FA Cup fourth round on Saturday.

Knocks picked up by Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu in Chelsea's 2-1 win over West Ham give Enzo Maresca a chance to rotate, with Nkunku in line for a start.

When the French striker has been handed chances in the UEFA Conference League he has delivered, scoring seven goals in seven appearances.

Talking of seven, that is the number Brighton were hit for at Nottingham Forest last week and that has to be a worry for the Seagulls – and music to the ears of Nkunku.
