West Ham are close to agreeing a loan deal for Chelsea striker Armando Broja.

The Albania international enjoyed an impressive season on loan at Southampton in 2021-22, netting nine goals overall.

But with Raheem Sterling arriving at Stamford Bridge last week, breaking into the Blues team still seems a tall order for the 20-year-old.

Plenty of clubs are said to be tracking the forward and a move across London to West Ham appears his most likely destination, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Hammers are said to have agreed personal terms with Broja as they look to provide more competition for Michail Antonio up front.

Though the Mail say Chelsea are reluctant to allow their academy graduate to leave permanently, meaning his switch to the London Stadium will only be a loan.

While David Moyes had been keen to negotiate a long-term deal for the ex-Vitesse ace, he is happy to proceed with a temporary agreement for now.

West Ham have also submitted a bid for Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca — but that will not affect whether Broja heads to East London.

The Italian scored an impressive 16 goals in Serie A last season, helping his side to a comfortable mid-table finish.

Chelsea have made a £40million bid for Paris Saint-Germain defender Presnel Kimpembe and are back in talks over a move for Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde, claim the Mail.

Manchester City have stepped up their bid to sign Brighton left-back Marc Cucurella after agreeing to sell Oleksandr Zinchenko to Arsenal, according to the Sun.

Reports in Spain say Tottenham are willing to pay £14.4m for Barcelona forward Memphis Depay but the Catalan club are holding out for £20m, with the Netherlands international reluctant to leave the Camp Nou.
