Arsenal chiefs will throw their full support behind under-fire boss Mikel Arteta in what is set to be a busy end to the transfer window in North London.

The 39-year-old has been installed as the favourite in the Premier League sack race after seeing his troops lose their opening two league games without scoring.

Yet despite growing calls for a change in the dugout, The Mirror suggest senior figures are instead standing by their man — and could even fund further new arrivals at the Emirates in the coming days.

The Sun believe Atletico Madrid full-back Kieran Trippier is one of several names still on Arteta’s list but only if the LaLiga champions lower their current £34million asking price.

Outgoings look inevitable as the Gunners continue to fine-tune their new-look squad and attempt to reduce an eye-watering wage bill.

In terms of top earners, The Telegraph claim both Willian and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could be among those set to leave.

Ex-Chelsea star Willian, 33, looks most likely to go and is considering a move back to his homeland after Brazilian club Corinthians tabled an offer.

Meanwhile, 32-year-old captain Aubameyang could be allowed to depart if an interested club makes suitable bid before the window slams shut.

Given both are said to be earning in excess of £200k per week, moving one of them on would potentially allow Arteta to move for Trippier.

Reports also suggest Hector Bellerin is wanted by Inter Milan but the Gunners would prefer a permanent switch rather than the initial loan bid lodged by the Italian champions.

Bellerin could be joined in Serie A by tough-tackling midfielder Lucas Torreira, with Fiorentina keen on the Uruguayan.

Young forward Eddie Nketiah could make a loan switch to Crystal Palace, where he would link up with Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira, while Sead Kolasinac and Ainsley Maitland-Niles are two others in line for the exit.

High-flying West Ham may turn to 25-year-old Lyon midfielder Jonathan Bamba with No1 target Jesse Lingard looking increasingly likely to stay at Manchester United.

Former French Under-21 star Bamba is supposedly available for around £25m but the Hammers face competition from both Bayer Leverkusen and Atalanta, according to The Express.

Another Lyon star who could head to the Premier League  is left-sided Ivorian Maxwel Cornet, with Burnley having lodged £15m for his services.

Sky Sports say the Clarets want to pay in five separate instalments and a deal is close — but 90Min believe Newcastle and West Ham are plotting a hijack attempt for the 24-year-old.

Wolves want to bolster their forward options before the deadline and are preparing a £7m bid for Cardiff striker Kieffer Moore, according to Football Insider.

Moore, 29, netted 20 times for the Bluebirds in the Championship last term and starred for Wales at Euro 2020 — but there is a feeling an agreement can be reached between the clubs before next Tuesday's deadline.
