Transfer Talk: Mbappe saga takes new twist as Real rule out move
Real Madrid have ruled out signing Kylian Mbappe, regardless of whether he leaves Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer or not.
The Frenchman is out of contract in 2024 and it has long been assumed that a move to the Spanish capital was his likeliest next move.
But according to reports in Spain, the 14-time European champions have decided not to proceed with a deal.
The story states that the club have not forgotten how Mbappe encouraged their interest in 2022 before performing a U-turn and electing to sign a new deal in Paris.
And Los Blancos have been put off by the Frenchman demanding a contract worth £16million per year — over double the figure that current star Jude Bellingham is earning.
There is also concern that the PSG hotshot will have turned 26 by the time he moves to Madrid.
Signing him at that age would fly in the face of the recent club policy of signing players aged under 23, with Bellingham, Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni and Brazilian youngster Endrick the latest headline additions.
