Plymouth hit the headlines with their sensational FA Cup fourth-round victory over Premier League leaders Liverpool on Sunday but they quickly need to refocus their attention to their battle against relegation from the Championship on Wednesday when Millwall visit Home Park.

This looks like a classic spot for a let-down performance from Plymouth after the weekend excitement and it would be natural for their players to be revelling in their success and not giving their full attention to the task ahead.

However, they cannot afford to pass up any opportunities to take points as they sit in last place in the Championship table and still four points from safety with only 16 league matches remaining.

Austrian manager Miron Muslic has been in the job for a month and has given the Green Army hope with only two defeats in their last six matches since he succeeded Wayne Rooney.

Argyle faced a real gauntlet of fixtures early in his reign with matches against top-five teams Burnley, Sunderland and West Brom before the cup clash against Liverpool, but they have left their early-season form behind with a battling away draw against the Black Cats and a 2-1 home win over the Baggies leading up to their 1-0 success on Sunday thanks to a Ryan Hardie penalty.

Things do not get that much easier for Plymouth, though, as Millwall arrive on a run of four successive wins.

The Lions' 2-0 FA Cup success over Championship leaders Leeds was achieved against a much-changed side, but it followed league victories over Luton, Portsmouth and QPR and the Londoners will be happy enough with their 14th place in the table having been in the lower reaches after a poor run in November and December.

Team news

Plymouth's squad will be assessed after their weekend exertions against Liverpool. Defender Nikola Katic lost a tooth in a collision with teammate Adam Randell but should still feature.

Millwall winger Femi Azeez returned from injury in style with both goals in the FA Cup win over Leeds and Aidomo Emakhu could be the next Lions player to regain full fitness.

Ryan Leonard, Josh Coburn, Shaun Hutchinson are also close to getting back in action but this game might come too soon.

The stats

All five of Plymouth's Championship wins have been secured at home.

Plymouth have lost just two of their last nine matches.

Argyle have scored five goals in their last three games after netting only two in their previous five matches.

Millwall have lost only one of their last eight matches.

The Lions have won to nil in their last three away league and cup games.

Millwall have won six successive clashes with Plymouth stretching back to 2011.

The teams' last three meetings have produced only four goals in total.

Prediction

Plymouth's poor record in the Championship before their recent revival under Muslic was chiefly down to their struggles in away games and they still have earned just four of their 25 points on the road.

The Pilgrims have become tough to dislodge at Home Park, though, with only four defeats in 15 league games.

While they may find it hard to hit the heights again after the excitement of their win over Liverpool, Millwall also enjoyed a notable cup success at the weekend and had a long trip to play Leeds.

It will not be easy for the Lions to chalk up a fifth successive victory when they visit the buzzing home side, despite their strong head-to-head record, and both sides may have to settle for a point.
