- Everton manager David Moyes has won only six of 42 matches against Liverpool
- Liverpool's hopes of winning the quadruple were ended by shock FA Cup defeat to Plymouth
- Recommended bet: Liverpool to win to nil

The final Goodison Park clash between Everton and Liverpool takes place on Wednesday night after last month's original fixture was postponed because of Storm Darragh.

Everton are in good heart for the rearranged Merseyside derby, winning their last three Premier League matches under David Moyes, while Liverpool suffered a shock FA Cup defeat at Plymouth on Sunday.

Arne Slot made a host of changes for the 1-0 loss at Home Park, but the Reds will have their big guns back in the team as they bid to move nine points clear of second-placed Arsenal.

Team news

Everton are short of attacking options as strikers Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Armando Broja are injured, along with winger Dwight McNeil.

Orel Mangala has been ruled out for the season, while Seamus Coleman and Youssef Chermiti are sidelined and Vitalii Mykolenko faces a fitness test.

Liverpool defender Joe Gomez has been ruled out and Trent Alexander-Arnold will be assessed after missing the Reds' last two games. Curtis Jones is a doubt and youngster Tyler Morton (shoulder) is ruled out.

The stats

Both teams have scored in only one of the last seven meetings between these clubs.

Everton have been leading at half-time and full-time in their last three league matches, although the Toffees have failed to score in 10 of their last 16 games in all competitions.

Liverpool's last three wins over Everton were all by a 2-0 scoreline.

The Reds have won three of their last four away league matches to nil and have won all nine of their away fixtures against teams outside the top six.

Prediction

A much-changed Liverpool team were knocked out of the FA Cup by Championship strugglers Plymouth on Sunday and manager Slot will be hoping for a response from his senior players.

Slot's selection gamble did not pay off in the cup, but the Premier League is the priority and a victory at Goodison Park would extend Liverpool's lead in the title race to nine points.

Everton lost 2-0 at home to Bournemouth in the FA Cup, but manager David Moyes has steered them to three straight victories in the league.

That run has eased their relegation fears in their final season at Goodison, although they benefited from playing against struggling opponents, beating Tottenham 3-2 and lowly Leicester 4-0 in their last two home games.

Between those successes they won 1-0 at Brighton, who went on to lose 7-0 at Nottingham Forest in their following fixture.

Liverpool have a patchy record in away derbies, most recently losing 2-0 at Goodison last season, but they have been ruthless against the weaker teams in the division this term.

Slot's men have won nine of their 12 away matches, only dropping points in draws at title rivals Arsenal and Champions League hopefuls Nottingham Forest and Newcastle.

Liverpool needed an injury-time brace from Darwin Nunez to seal a 2-0 victory at Brentford last month before winning at in-form Bournemouth by the same scoreline in their last away league fixture.

The Reds' star players should be fresh after being rested at the weekend while Everton's attacking injury problems suggest Slot's men can rack up a 10th win to nil in this season's Premier League.
