Luis Enrique will be looking for PSG to end their league phase campaign on a high

- PSG have won back-to-back games in the Champions League
- Both teams have scored in three of PSG's last five matches in the competition
- Recommended bet:
PSG to win and both teams to score

It was hoped that by playing every match at the same time on matchday eight of the Champions League, teams settling for draws would not happen, but that could be the case when Stuttgart welcome PSG to the MHP Arena.

Barring a bizarre set of results across matches elsewhere, a draw in this match would be enough to see both into the knockout round play-offs.

That scenario could point to a drab affair but given there are still opportunities to be seeded in the play-offs, both sides will want to finish as high as possible and should push for the win.

Both teams also come into this match off the back of European wins as Stuttgart ran out 3-1 winners away to Slovan Bratislava, while PSG enjoyed a 4-2 comeback win at home to Manchester City.

Team news

Stuttgart will be without suspended defender Anthony Rouault, while El Bilal Toure, Dan-Axel Zagadou, Luca Raimund and Justin Diehl are injured.

Ermedin Demirovic may have to settle for a place on the bench, with Deniz Undav potentially favoured in attack by coach Sebastian Hoeness.

PSG's only absentee is Nuno Mendes, who is suspended after picking up a third booking of the tournament against Manchester City.

The stats

PSG have won their last two games in the Champions League by an aggregate scoreline of 7-2.

Stuttgart have scored in all but one of their seven Champions League fixtures this season, breaching the likes of Real Madrid and Juventus.

PSG are unbeaten in their last 12 matches in all competitions, most recently sustaining a defeat away to Bayern Munich in November.

Enzo Millot has scored two goals and registered three assists for Stuttgart in this season's Champions League.

Given the permutations, the draw will be an attractive bet for punters but Luis Enrique will want his PSG team to keep stringing together wins in the Champions League.

After a woeful start to the competition, the Paris outfit have won back-to-back matches against Salzburg and Manchester City and the aim will be to finish as high as possible.

Being as low down as they are will be considered unacceptable by fans anyway and settling for a draw would likely not go down well.

PSG certainly have form on their side anyway, having gone 12 games unbeaten in all competitions, and they are free from injuries with the suspended Mendes their only confirmed absentee.

Stuttgart have blown hot and cold in the Champions League this season, losing 5-1 to Crvena zvezda as recently as November, while their recent wins were against eliminated pair Young Boys and Slovan Bratislava, so they should be taken with a pinch of salt.

However, they can get on the scoresheet in this game, having drawn just one blank in the league phase, and an away win and both teams to score makes the most appeal in the betting.
