Blackburn Rovers to win

Queens Park Rangers had won five home games in a row in the Championship before last month's 2-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.

The Hoops followed that loss with another defeat at Millwall on Saturday and they are aiming to bounce back against Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday night.

Rovers ended their lean run of form with a 2-1 win over Lancashire rivals Preston on Friday and they remain in the hunt for a play-off place under manager John Eustace.

Team news

QPR are likely to be missing the injured Jimmy Dunne, Zan Celar, Lucas Andersen, Jake Clarke-Salter and Karamoko Dembele. Striker Alfie Lloyd should start again after scoring at Millwall on Saturday.

Rovers could be unchanged after Friday's victory over Preston as Scott Wharton, Yuki Ohashi, Hayden Carter, Zak Gilsenan, Harry Pickering and Arnor Sigurdsson remain sidelined.

Forward Augustus Kargbo is likely to be in the squad after arriving from Cesena and Todd Cantwell is hoping for a recall in midfield.

The stats

The R's have won five of their last six home league matches and have played out seven 1-1 draws in the Championship this season.

QPR have won and both teams have scored in three of their last four Championship home games.

Blackburn have lost five of their last 10 league games to nil and only one of Rovers' last 16 matches produced over 3.5 goals.

Rovers have conceded the first goal in four of their last five away games.

Prediction

Rovers have an impressive recent record against QPR, winning five of their last six meetings in the Championship.

That run includes 3-1 and 4-0 victories at Loftus Road in the past two seasons and Rovers are a tempting price to complete a hat-trick of away wins over the Hoops.

QPR enjoyed an excellent run over the winter, losing only once in 13 matches, but they were thrashed 6-2 by Premier League strugglers Leicester City in the FA Cup and have lost their last two league fixtures.

Blackburn surged into the top six thanks to a six-game winning streak in November and December, but they have had a tough run of fixtures since then.

They drew with promotion contenders Sunderland and Leeds United and lost 1-0 to high-flying Burnley, while suffering narrow recent defeats to in-form Oxford United, Coventry City and Bristol City.

Rovers got back on track with a 2-1 home win over Preston last week and they have had an extra day's rest to prepare for this clash.

Blackburn won the reverse fixture 2-0 at Ewood Park, racking up 12 shots on target to the Hoops' one.

Their cause was helped by a first-half red card for QPR's Jonathan Varane, but they look a value bet to complete the double over the Hoops and boost their play-off hopes.
