- Recommended bets:
- Notts County to win League Two
- Colchester to be promoted
- Morecambe to be relegated
The EFL's bottom tier looks stronger than ever with Wrexham and Notts County bolstering the ranks after their promotions from the National League.
Wrexham, who won the National League last season with 111 points, are 7/2 with LiveScore Bet to land the fourth tier title, while County, who were promoted via the play-offs, are available at 8/1.
Stockport, the 2021-22 National League champions, were losing League Two play-off finalists last term, and they are expected to have another strong season.
However, several other clubs will fancy their chances, including Mark Hughes' Bradford, and recently-relegated MK Dons.
Count on further improvement from Notts
Notts County finished four points below Wrexham in last season's National League title race, but they achieved their main objective (promotion to the fourth tier) and are aiming for another successful campaign.
Magpies fans were put through an emotional roller coaster during last season's National League play-off final against Chesterfield.
County twice came from behind, ensuring a 2-2 draw after extra-time, before holding their nerve in a 4-3 penalty shootout success.
It could so easily have gone the other way but the Magpies deserved their promotion and they are building to achieve something similar in 2023-24.
The summer recruitment drive is well underway and County may have already pulled off League Two's signing of the summer by snapping up David McGoldrick from Derby.
McGoldrick racked up 22 goals in League One last term and his quality will be a huge benefit to County, where he started his professional career.
Red Dragons are on the rise
It would be no great surprise to see both newly-promoted teams competing towards the top end.
Wrexham lost just three league games last season and were almost unstoppable at the Racecourse Ground where they collected 67 points from a possible 69.
The cash-rich Welsh club are investing with the aim of building an even stronger squad and a top-three finish is sure to be their ambition.

However, several other teams will be looking to challenge for automatic promotion including Stockport, Bradford and Salford, who came up short during last season's play-offs.
All three are ambitious clubs and Bradford have made some early headway in the market with the notable acquisitions of midfielders Alex Pattison and Kevin McDonald from Harrogate and Exeter.
Pattison's departure from Harrogate leaves a big void and it appears likely that the Sulphurites could be among the struggling clubs.
Elsewhere, Wimbledon have issues to address after winning just one of their last 19 games and Morecambe are at risk of a second successive relegation after losing 14 players, including star striker Cole Stockton.
Prediction
The gap between League Two and the National League seems to shrink year on year and there is every chance of Wrexham and Notts County securing back-to-back promotions.
There was little to choose between them last season and County may have the better prospects this term thanks to the inspired signing of McGoldrick from Derby.
The race for the top seven could be wide open and Colchester, who finished 20th last term, could be involved.
The well-resourced Essex club have been on the up since January and might be surprise contenders for promotion.
While two teams are aiming for back-to-back promotions, others are at risk of successive relegations.
Forest Green need to stabilise after their rock-bottom finish in League One but they may fare better than Morecambe, who were relegated on the final weekend of last term.
The Shrimps have retained manager Derek Adams but they have huge gaps to fill after losing 14 members of their playing squad.
