- Manchester City meet Real Madrid for the fourth successive season
- Celtic face a huge showdown with Bayern Munich in Glasgow
- Dark horses PSG face an all-Ligue 1 clash with surprise outfit Brest

Europe’s top competition has a much quicker turnaround than usual this season, with the knockout rounds beginning just a couple of weeks after the first stage ended.

The headline tie has to be holders Real Madrid meeting Premier League champions Manchester City.

There will also be plenty of interest around Celtic’s clash with German champions Bayern Munich, while PSG are shaping up to be real dark horses ahead of their meeting with Brest.

Brest vs PSG (Tuesday, 5:45pm)

PSG had their struggles early on in the Champions League, but they finished the league phase with three comfortable wins.

Overall, the French champions have won 12 of their last 14, including a 5-2 Ligue 1 victory at Brest. Their forward line is flying and, after scoring four goals in each of their last two games in Europe, another big win is on the cards.

Score prediction: Brest 1-4 PSG

Juventus vs PSV (Tuesday, 8pm)

This clash could be tighter than the September meeting which Juventus won 3-1, but the Italian side should still shade the first leg.

PSV pushed up the standings with a kind run of fixtures to close out the league phase, but they have lost three of their last five away trips and could struggle in their return to Turin.

Score prediction: Juventus 2-1 PSV

Manchester City vs Real Madrid (Tuesday, 8pm)

Manchester City’s struggles may leave an opening for Real Madrid, but the holders’ defensive issues and big-game setbacks make this clash closer than City’s woes would suggest.

Real have yet to beat any of La Liga’s top four, while they have already lost 4-0 and 5-2 to Barcelona this term.

The visitors have a weakened backline against a City side who struggle to defend, so back both attacks to come out on top and ultimately cancel each other out.

Score prediction: Manchester City 2-2 Real Madrid

Sporting vs Borussia Dortmund (Tuesday, 8pm)

Sporting lost three of their four league phase games after Ruben Amorim departed and they look vulnerable again. Borussia Dortmund won two of their four trips, scoring first in all four, so back them to edge this one.

Score prediction: Sporting 1-2 Borussia Dortmund

Gian Piero Gasperini saw Atalanta register a first win in four with a 5-0 victory at Hellas Verona at the weekend.

Club Brugge vs Atalanta (Wednesday, 5:45pm)

Atalanta have seen a minimum of four goals scored in their last four Champions League matches. Their 5-0 win at Verona on Saturday suggests they are back to their best, so expect them to make short work of Club Brugge.

Score prediction: Club Brugge 1-3 Atalanta

Monaco vs Benfica (Wednesday, 8pm)

Benfica edged the first meeting between these two this term, winning 3-2 in Monaco.

The visitors have won by that scoreline in each of their previous two games and they head to a side who have lost 4-1 to PSG and 3-0 to Inter Milan across their last three.

Score prediction: Monaco 2-3 Benfica

Feyenoord vs AC Milan (Wednesday, 8pm)

Feyenoord impressed through most of the league phase, before suffering a 6-1 thumping at the hands of Lille.

The Dutch side have lost three of their previous four and AC Milan should have too much for them, as the Rossoneri are coming off a 3-1 win over Roma and a 2-0 victory at Empoli.

Score prediction: Feyenoord 0-2 AC Milan

Celtic vs Bayern Munich (Wednesday, 8pm)

Celtic have a strong record at home in the Champions League, winning three and drawing one in the league phase.

They are unbeaten in six home matches in this competition, while Bayern Munich lost three of four trips and have won once in seven Champions League away days.

Score prediction: Celtic 1-1 Bayern Munich
