Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers will be aiming for another Champions League home victory against Club Brugge on Wednesday

- Celtic have won their last three Champions League home games
- Club Brugge have scored in their last three European matches
- Recommended bet:
Celtic to win and both teams to score

Celtic are among the teams to have benefited most from the revamped Champions League formula and can accelerate their hopes of qualification by beating Club Brugge on Wednesday.

An opening 5-1 win over Slovan Bratislava set the Bhoys up for their campaign and while they were well-beaten 7-1 by Borussia Dortmund, a 0-0 draw against Atalanta showed their steel and they backed it up by beating RB Leipzig 3-1.

Brugge have lost to both Dortmund and AC Milan but have recorded 1-0 wins over Sturm Graz and Aston Villa and are surprise candidates to make the play-offs.

After their opening 3-0 reverse at home to BVB, Nicky Hayen's team have scored in their last three European matches but while they carry a threat, Celtic's home record hints that they can continue their European run.

Team news

Celtic could have striker Adam Idah back after an ankle injury, with Odin Holm their only absentee due to a thigh problem.

For Brugge, foward Gustaf Nilsson and defender Bjorn Meijer are out and there is a doubt over defender Maxim De Cuyper due to an undisclosed fitness problem.

The stats

Saturday's 4-1 victory at Hearts means Celtic have now won six matches in a row, while they are unbeaten at home in all competitions since losing to the Edinburgh outfit last December.

Brugge are unbeaten in their last six games, warming up for their trip to Glasgow by beating Sint-Truiden 7-0.

Celtic have won their last three Champions League home games but conceded in all of those matches.

Prediction

Nicky Hayen has seen his Club Brugge side score in three of their four Champions League games

The wins over Slovan and Leipzig have really boosted Celtic's qualification hopes and the Parkhead crowd have more than played their part.

That surprise point in Bergamo was also a real bonus and they can approach this fixture with genuine confidence due to both form and the knowledge that they have a winnable game against Young Boys among their remaining matches.

Brugge are also looking good but their campaign starts here, with Sporting Lisbon, Juventus and Manchester City in their final three league phase fixtures.

FCB have recovered from a tough start to the season but this game could prove a test too far and is a fabulous chance for Celtic to grab a third victory in the competition.

Brendan Rodgers' side have a habit of leaking goals but with the crowd behind them, can rally to get a result.
