Barnet strengthen their position at the top with home win over Hartlepool
Barnet extended their lead at the top of the National League table with a 2-0 win over Hartlepool.
Danny Collinge had an early effort saved and the Bees continued to push as Ryan Glover came close twice before Mark Shelton rattled the post.
Pools’ forward Mani Dieseruvwe smashed a chance over the bar from a corner just before the break and Barnet hit the woodwork again when Zak Brunt’s strike was pushed onto the crossbar by Adam Smith.
Glover sent Barnet ahead six minutes after the break and they had another great opportunity to extend their advantage just minutes later when Callum Stead’s header was saved.
Lee Ndlovu doubled the Bees’ lead in the 62nd minute with his first goal for the club to send them four points clear at the summit.
